I've been into the 'diaper cakes' for a few years now so I knew I would love making a 'school supply' cake when my sister-in-laws teacher graduation came around. This project was easy and took less than 30 minutes once I purchased all the supplies. You can use whatever you want for your 'cake' I just went to the store and purchased several of each essential item I thought would be needed for a new teacher in her classroom.
4 square baskets from Dollar Tree.
9 boxes of Crayons
2 Rulers
8 School Glues
10 Stick Glues
Erasers
Rubber Bands
Chalkboard Squares
Hot Glue.
I hot glued everything, it was the only way I could get it to stick and because I knew this would be transported several times I thought it was the best protection. Everything is easily removed except the crayons. The crayon box will tear a little but the crayons will not be damaged in any way.
Have you ever made a cake similar to this? Did you include something different?
