Joy.

Often I find myself going days without blogging because either I have so much I want to say and not enough time or because I'm learning a lot of new things and want to make sure I totally agree and understand it before I blog about it. Today is a day when I have so much to say but don't have the time to completely articulate everything, so instead of just skipping another day of I want to just give you a short paragraph on a topic that I've been discovering so much about, JOY.

Our joy can't be situational or conditional. It can't be conditioned on circumstances, moods or situations, which are constantly changing and never as {we think} they ought to be. Our joy must be completely rooted in Christ. We must learn, re-learn and remember over and over that Christ is the only thing that will satisfy our hearts. It is only Christ which can bring true and lasting joy and happiness.

  1. I love that phrase: Today I Will Choose Joy. Joy really is a choice! I met a man recently who surprised me. I asked the typical greeting question, "How are you?" He answered with, "Terrific, Wonderful, Absolutely Amazing." His answer brought a smile to my face and curiosity to my mind. I had to ask for the reason behind his amazing mood. His adult son, who was with him, said "He is always like that." The older gentleman said that he has DECIDED to be happy every day. He said he has lived with a negative mindset and he has lived with a positive mindset and that his days go much better if he chooses to be joyful. While we cannot always choose our circumstances, we can determine our outlook. This is a beautiful life lesson whether we are dealing with a difficult situation or challenging finances. 3. Your post rings soundly with me right now. Thank you for writing out what I haven't been brave enough to share with others. There are so many things I could say, but I feel so unsettled in my thoughts right now due to processing what God is teaching me or it's so personal I keep it to myself. I am choosing joy in my moments, though...and it is all working itself out for God's glory.
