Biblical Perspectives on the Death of Osama bin Laden

As everyone around the globe knows Bin Laden has been killed by a U.S. special Navy Seal team. Although there are a lot of uncertainties surrounding this death {will this spark terroristic attacks quickly out of retaliation etc?} I am proud of our C.I.A., military and their perseverance for the several years spent in bringing down the head of one of the most deadly terrorist groups today. I've found several articles helpful in thinking through this situation with a biblical lens.

  1. I wrote about it today, Marcie. This post was more about my initial reflections rather than a comprehensive biblical perspective, though!

Hope you have a blessed week!

  2. Thank you so much for these excellent links about Bin Laden's death...
    I am mixed.
Rejoicing in justice and some sort of small vindication for families affected by his actions.
Fearful in the reality that he is now face to face with God...as we will someday all be.

  3. I wrote about this yesterday, too! I mostly come away from the news thankful for God's mercy on me - I could have become just like Bin Laden if not for His great grace towards me.

  4. I love Piper's article on the matter. Very mature and well thought out and Biblical on how God views the death of all enemies of His. Thanks for sharing!
