Preparing for Easter {ourselves}

Preparing for Easter seems to be a lot harder than preparing ourselves for Christmas. We have to be very intentional in our homes, with our children and ourselves in order to grasp how joyous and glorious Easter Sunday truly is. In order to celebrate the resurrection of Christ from the dead we have to first understand and focus on the necessity of the Death of Jesus.
During the next few weeks I encourage you to focus your heart and your children's hearts towards the cross. I've listed three books {out of many} that are an excellent read to prepare ourselves and to begin understanding the weight of the cross. What books do you read as Easter approaches?

Fifty Reasons Jesus Came to Die

Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ

The Truth of the Cross by R.C. Sproul

  1. Awesome books! Piper is my boyfriend's and my favorite author/preacher! RC Sproul is awesome too!

  2. Thank you for posting the books. Always love readying your blog

  3. I read Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross by Nancy Guthrie last year. It's a collection of essays and such from various pastors and theologians. It is very good. I am going to pull it out soon and begin to mull over it again.

  4. I know it's past Easter, but perhaps this can still be useful for next year :) "Preparing My Heart for Easter" by Ann Marie Stewart is an EXCELLENT 8 weeks Bible Study, from the beginning of Lent to the week after Easter. I've done it with some ladies from my Christian playgroup and we all loved it, definitely brought me closer to the true meaning of Easter. We had done "Preparing my Heart for Advent" before and had loved it too!

  5. Thanks for posting this! I'm way late but I just downloaded the free books. ;) I look forward to reading them.
