Beginnings of DWYH

Wow... my first post! I want to start by saying that I'm so excited to start this blog. This has been a desire of mine for sometime now but, I'm just now finalizing all the details.

As you can see by my profile information and by my title my desire is to not waste my homemaking and to encourage other women like me to do the same. It is a fight in our culture for women to delight in their careers as homemakers. I have seen the two extremes... one extreme I've seen is that Christian women think it is ridiculous for a woman to not have a career outside her home, the other extreme I've found is Christian women who make their career in their home and yet dread doing the tasks of a homemaker. Either woman is in danger of wasting their life due to their lack of glorifying God in this area. Due to the fact that I am a full time homemaker I will be speaking from this perspective and trying to fight to not waste my homemaking. I will be posting thoughts about how we can glorify God in our homemaking tasks, hospitality, recipes, lyrics to challenge us and many more things!

What does the unwasted life of a homemaker look like? What does a wasted life of a homemaker look like? How do we as Christian women seek to glorify God in our homemaking careers? Continue reading to find out!

  6. I wasn't sure what was meant by "Don't waste your homemaking" when I first linked over to your blog, but it is now very clear and so needed! You are doing a wonderful job promoting homemaking and actually "doing" the work of making a home.

  10. What a wonderful post! I grew up with a career mom and was taught that homemaking was not an option. However, God disagreed and led me to take care of my family and home... and I absolutely love it! I've even discovered new talents like sewing and cooking!

  14. Thank you so much for this blog. I am a young wife, with a little one on the way. My mom stayed home while we growing up, but my husband's mother did not. I am so grateful that God has given us the means and opportunity for me to stay at home and delight in being a wife and mother. Thank you for the support and encouragement.
